As a Business Development Representative, you will prospect and grow business while building relationships within the assigned territory with the goal of promoting the NCS brand and the use of NCS chemicals to our target audience. The role focuses on growing a direct street business with individual entrepreneurs in the Tunnel Carwash industry and offers opportunities to develop selling skills for progression to the next level of sales account management. Responsibilities
Responsible for prospecting, retaining and growing sales of NCS cleaning solutions products and account contract agreements to consistently meet and/or exceed sales budgets. Research companies and build targeting prospect lists, develop strategies to increase new account penetration, bring in new business efficiently, and create a long-term, fully committed customer base. Develop compelling value to customers using insight, business analysis, problem solving, and flexibility; identify opportunities, threats and trends; anticipate future barriers and issues; analyze customer economics/financial performance. Serve as a subject matter expert on all NCS cleaning solutions and their performance in professional car wash equipment available today. Provide professional and technical expertise in the delivery and usage of NCS products, positioning the brands as leaders in the marketplace and using sales tools to present to customers. Listen to customer needs and communicate changes in the marketplace or customer concerns to leadership; represent the voice of the customer. Escalate any bad business or corrections needed to prevent loss of business; keep Salesforce.com up to date and report business metrics as required. Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and long-term sales and service plans for the territory and each customer. Collect overdue invoices and maintain Days Sales Outstanding (D.S.O.) at or below company standards; prepare organized customer service reports. Support and assist with CTC accounts with field-level sales and service execution as well as Corporate Account and Distribution initiatives. Must cold call to generate new business leads and coordinate with Corporate Marketing to follow up on industry leads. Travel to prospective and current client sites to assess needs and make recommendations for replacing current equipment or installing new car wash systems. Know and comply with company policies and procedures; perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
A high school diploma is required; college degree preferred. Military background and/or technical school beneficial. Minimum of 3 years of proven sales experience in a similar industry or capital equipment B2B selling. Experience in the car wash industry and/or currently working for a supplier to the Tunnel carwash industry. Sales training with a typical path of approximately 30, 60, 90 to 120 days maximum is preferred. Technically and mechanically inclined. Ability to work a varied work schedule based on business needs; must be an energetic self-starter who is entrepreneurial and autonomous. Self-motivated with the desire to succeed and to motivate others; strong written and verbal communication skills for customer education and sales closure. Critical thinking and problem solving; ability to lead business improvement projects. Basic understanding of pricing/margin documents. Willingness to travel within the assigned territory (up to ~10 overnights per month, may vary). Proficient with MS Office suite and CRM software; able to use a PC routinely. For driving a company vehicle: valid driver’s license and good driving record; no more than two moving violations in the past 5 years; no at-fault accidents in the past 5 years; no impaired driving convictions or pending charges in the past 5 years.
