Overview
We are looking for an experienced
Employee Relations Specialist
to support a large, field‑based workforce across multiple regions. You’ll lead complex ER investigations, partner closely with leadership, and help foster a respectful, compliant, and high‑performance culture across both corporate and jobsite environments.

What You’ll Do
Lead and manage complex ER investigations (workplace conduct, harassment, policy violations).
Conduct fact‑finding interviews, analyze evidence, and deliver clear findings/recommendations.
Serve as the
primary contact for ethics hotline
intake, triage, follow‑up, and case progression.
Prepare documentation for
mediations, depositions, administrative hearings, and litigation support .
Partner with leaders on corrective actions, performance management, and conflict resolution.
Maintain
objective, compliant, and organized case files
with impeccable documentation.
Compliance & Employment Law
Stay current on federal, state, and local employment laws; recommend policy/process updates.
Support responses to
EEOC
claims,
DOL
inquiries, and audits; assist with risk mitigation.
Regional HR Support (Mid‑Atlantic)
Serve as
backup
to the Mid‑Atlantic HR Generalist.
Assist with new‑hire
orientation
and HR onboarding as needed.
Field Partnership & Training
Travel to jobsites/operations nationwide to conduct investigations and provide ER support.
Deliver training/coaching on workplace conduct, harassment prevention, and policy adherence.
Build strong, trust‑based relationships with leaders, managers, and employees.
Ideal Background You’ve supported workforces in
construction ,
manufacturing ,
MEP trades ,
field services , or similar operational environments, and can balance approachability with authority.
Qualifications
7+ years
in Employee Relations/HR investigations.
Proven experience
leading complex investigations
and writing thorough investigation reports.
Experience supporting
blue‑collar/craft workforces ; construction or trades strongly preferred.
Hands‑on exposure to
EEOC , mediations, hearings, or litigation support.
Strong knowledge of federal/state employment laws; excellent interviewing & documentation skills.
Composed, objective, and discreet under pressure; strong relationship‑building skills.
Willingness to
travel
and support multiple time zones.
Bachelor’s degree
in HR, Business, or related field preferred.
Relocation to Manassas, VA required.
Balances empathy with accountability; comfortable with direct, respectful conversations.
Transitions seamlessly between
field environments
and
executive discussions .
Responsive and flexible when urgent matters arise; follows through relentlessly.
Base Salary:
$100,000 – $130,000
(dependent on experience, skills, and location). The base range may be updated as market conditions evolve; role may be bonus‑eligible.
