Senior Product Designer
Design Citizen, Indianapolis, IN, United States
Who We Are
We are Design Citizen, a human-centered talent studio partnering with ambitious organizations to build thoughtful, impactful products through design. Our client, a global leader at the intersection of health and science, is investing deeply in design as a strategic capability. We’re hiring a Product Designer to join the Clinical Trials team, dedicated to one highly technical product that plays a critical role in the organization’s research ecosystem. This designer will help shape the product’s end‑to‑end experience, bringing a strong visual eye, refined craft, and the ability to translate complex workflows into intuitive, elegant design solutions. This role will collaborate closely with cross‑functional partners, and while the team operates in a hybrid environment, the designer should be able to come onsite as needed for key working sessions, reviews, and collaboration moments. Why This Role Matters
You will help define how complex products take shape across teams, translating ambiguity into clarity and vision into usable, scalable experiences. Whether shaping customer-facing tools, internal platforms, or shared design foundations, your work will directly influence how teams collaborate, how products evolve, and how users experience critical healthcare technology. This role is ideal for designers who are still deeply hands-on, but who naturally think in systems, patterns, and long-term impact. What You Will Do
Product and Experience Leadership Lead design efforts across complex problem spaces from discovery through delivery Frame ambiguous challenges into clear experience strategies and design direction Balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints in regulated environments Design Craft and Systems Thinking Create high-quality UX and visual design work across responsive web and platform experiences Contribute to shared patterns, components, and standards without being siloed into systems-only work Translate brand, interaction, and accessibility principles into repeatable, scalable solutions Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner closely with product, engineering, research, and content teams to drive alignment Influence design quality and consistency through critique, reviews, and mentorship Advocate for usability, accessibility, and clarity across the product ecosystem What You Bring
6 to 10+ years of experience in product design, including complex or enterprise-scale products Experience operating at a senior or lead level within large, cross-functional organizations Strong UX and visual design fundamentals with an eye for systems and patterns Fluency in Figma, including components, libraries, documentation, and collaboration workflows Comfort navigating ambiguity, influencing without authority, and guiding teams forward A portfolio that shows not just what you designed, but how you thought, collaborated, and led Join Us
At Design Citizen, we believe great design comes from diverse perspectives, lived experience, and inclusive teams. We are proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer and welcome candidates of all backgrounds.
