Works in conjunction with Store Managers to oversee Agricultural Customer Account Managers
Purpose The Agricultural Sales Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and supporting the dealership’s Agricultural sales efforts. This position serves as LandPro’s expert for all Agricultural equipment that the dealership represents, including John Deere and various other manufacturers. The role ensures consistent sales processes, equipment expertise, coaching, and strategic direction that drive market share, profitability, and long-term customer satisfaction across the company’s Area of Responsibility
Responsibilities
Serves as the subject matter expert for John Deere Agricultural Equipment
Conducts weekly/monthly ride-alongs with ag sales professionals throughout our area of responsibility. This would include Central PA, Western PA, Eastern OH, Central NY, and Western NY.
Acts as a resource for sales professionals and managers on CRM, quoting standards, and equipment demonstrations
Develops and executes the agricultural sales strategy aligned with the company’s goals
In conjunction with store managers, creates developmental plans for Ag sales professionals, which include identifying training needs, equipment knowledge, and overall job capabilities
Develops growth strategies for expanding agricultural equipment market presence
Analyzes market trends and builds annual and long-term strategic plans
Implements and enforces a consistent sales process that drives optimal financial, market and customer performance
Collaborates with Deere representatives on programs, forecasts, and promotions
Creates and executes an effective whole goods marketing strategy for the Agricultural segment
Helps manage new complete goods Ag inventory, which includes maintaining proper inventory levels and order program utilization
Establishes unit and revenue goals for stores and sales professionals
Assists store managers with hiring, onboarding, and performance management of the Agricultural Sales Team
Works with Parts and Service teams to help promote customer satisfaction
Oversees pricing, discounting, and margin expectations
Responsible for other duties as assigned by your manager
Requirements Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
3+ years equipment sales experience
Ability to teach and coach sales professionals on selling techniques and sales processes
Experience leading others
Familiar with John Deere and competitive products
Ability to use Deere sales computer applications and tools
Ability to use software applications such as Microsoft Office and Deere systems
Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports
High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in business or marketing preferred
