We’re looking for an experienced agricultural communication professional to lead our agricultural practice area. Account Manager, Agriculture What You’ll Do

Lead and manage the agriculture PR practice area and serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing communication counsel and helping them reach business and organizational goals. The practice area includes multiple accounts, projects and campaigns. The account manager will serve as the main contact and agency lead, set and align strategy, write plans and oversee their successful implementation. Collaborate with clients to deliver high-quality work on time and on budget. This includes anticipating client needs, proposing creative solutions and offering sound public relations counsel, as well as managing budgets, hours and resources to stay aligned with objectives. Collaborate with agency team members to develop and deliver communication strategies and tactics for project and retainer clients. This includes lead strategist, creative director, communication specialist, content creator, virtual experiences team and business support. Translate complex topics (science, agriculture, health, sustainability, etc.) into clear, compelling communication. Work closely with Rural Health practice area account manager to share ideas and expert insight. Grow the agriculture portfolio by delivering outstanding results for existing clients, and identifying and capturing new opportunities. Supervise work output and quality, and junior team members. Attend meetings in person and virtually, speak at events and network with industry professionals. What You’ll Bring to the Team

Experience in agriculture or related field. Proven ability to manage multiple clients, priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment. Excellent project management and organizational skills (detail-oriented and deadline-driven). Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills with excellent command of correct grammar and AP style. Experience executing campaigns, from strategic planning to tactical implementation, budgeting and measurement (i.e. public relations RPIE process). Confident communication counsel backed by best practices and knowledge of the industry and issues. Strong interpersonal skills: listens well, builds trust, motivates teams and values collaboration. Bachelor’s degree in communication, public relations, agricultural communication or related field. Proven experience in agriculture or life sciences. 7+ years of professional communication or PR experience (agency experience preferred). Continuing education certificates and accreditations in project management, public relations, marketing and other areas are valued. Must have understanding of business strategy, business math, managing budgets and scopes of work, public relations principles, and media measurement. Why Shift•ology?

Work Hours Full-time, salaried. Employee should set and adhere to his or her own regular schedule and be open to work outside of regular business hours. This is a deadline-oriented job and may require some work on evenings and weekends. Most evening or weekend events are scheduled well in advance, and the need to work outside regular business hours is primarily based on the individual’s ability to plan and meet deadlines during the workweek. Location The Shift•ology Communication headquarters is located in COhatch in Springfield, Ohio. This position is hybrid and will involve occasional travel to our office and client offices. While Shift•ology Communication primarily operates as a hybrid-working team, we equip you with tools and technology to easily connect with clients and teammates from any location. Its worth noting that office space is available, and in-person attendance is mandatory for specific meetings, events, and activities as scheduled and determined by client needs. The account manager will be required to be in the office up to 6 weeks the first year for training purposes, after which time the schedule will be re-evaluated. Salary and Benefits Compensation structure includes a base salary, portfolio performance incentive, and annual bonus and profit sharing. Base Salary: $80,000-$100,000, based on experience Portfolio Performance Incentive: Account managers earn 2.5% of the annual revenue portfolio they manage, which starts with a healthy portfolio of $500,000 in the first year. Performance Bonus: Up to 10% of base salary annually based on individual and company performance. Profit Sharing: Provided to employees participating in the company 401(k) for the last 3 years. High-performing account managers who successfully grow and manage client portfolios have ample opportunity to earn $25,000+ beyond base salary in the first year.
