We are seeking a highly motivated

Facilities Community Relations Specialist

to join our team. This role focuses on strengthening relationships between the community and school construction initiatives by supporting outreach, communication, and engagement efforts connected to facilities programs and projects. The ideal candidate enjoys collaborating with diverse stakeholders and helping communities stay informed and involved in meaningful development efforts. Key Responsibilities

Identify and collaborate with community groups, school administrators, elected officials, legislators, and regulatory agencies to support communication around facilities projects and initiatives. Implement community outreach strategies for assigned construction related programs and projects. Schedule, coordinate, and participate in community meetings and outreach events across the district. Inform and engage the community on the school construction process including site selection, environmental review processes, acquisition, relocation, and design and construction activities. Prepare written reports and provide information to Community Relations leadership for presentations to stakeholders such as the Board of Education and oversight committees. Coordinate planning committees and logistics for special events including groundbreaking ceremonies, ribbon cutting events, and school openings. Maintain project files and contact databases for assigned initiatives. Provide information to district personnel, community organizations, business groups, education agencies, and the public regarding procurement policies and procedures related to Facilities Services and Procurement Services. Additional duties as assigned. Education

Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in public relations, community relations, urban planning, business administration, public administration, or a related field. Applicants who do not meet the education requirement may substitute professional experience on a year for year basis for up to two years. Experience

Minimum of four (4) years full time paid professional experience within a public or private organization performing community outreach activities, organizing outreach campaigns, and conducting field work with community based organizations or groups. Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge of public relations principles, current community issues, and local government structures Ability to assimilate information from multiple sources Ability to work effectively with diverse groups Strong collaboration and compliance awareness Attention to detail and ability to develop promotional materials Ability to prepare presentations Valid California Driver’s License and ability to travel as required Preferred Qualifications
