You will assemble custom sheet metal products or subassemblies for modular scientific laboratories. Responsibilities and Duties
Assemble products and/or subassemblies according to verbal instructions and Engineering drawings Operate hand and power tools as required and in accordance with general safety principles. Confer with Supervisor about variances Crosstrain with other areas as requested Assist in other areas of Production as requested Participate in Quality and Safety functions pertaining to Production Other reasonably related duties Required Skills and Abilities
Ability to use and read a measuring tape accurately. Working knowledge of precise construction or assembly procedures. Knowledge of general safety principles in a Shop environment. Professional manner Ability to operate basic hand and power tools, as well as a hand jack Good oral communication skills Basic reading and comprehension skills; ability to write legibly Ability to understand and follow instructions Detail and quality-results-oriented Ability to read and understand blueprints Ability to use and read measuring instruments accurately in both U.S. Standard and Metric Awareness of general safety principles in a Shop environment Reliable transportation to work Ability to complete tasks working with others and independently Work overtime as required Physical abilities: hearing; seeing; lifting, pushing, and pulling between 50-75 pounds; crouching; bending, twisting; kneeling; squatting; crawling; walking; standing for long periods; reaching in all directions; balancing; holding, grasping, and manipulating very small objects; hand/eye coordination; use safety ladder; climbing; lay on a mechanic's creeper and move about while performing tasks with tools; tolerate varying ranges of temperature in a Shop environment. Active Driver's License helpful Education and Experience
