The Director of Digital Advertising Technology leads the strategy, implementation, and optimization of advertising technology solutions that power digital monetization across Hallmark Media platforms. This technology role partners with Advertising Sales and Operations teams to ensure scalable, privacy-compliant, and high-performing advertising technology infrastructure supporting programmatic, direct and emerging advertising formats. This includes owning the technical design, vendor integration, and operational readiness of systems such as the ad server, SSAl, measurement, OMS, and CRM. The ideal candidate combines deep knowledge of advertising technology ecosystems with strong leadership, operational excellence, and a forward-looking view of digital advertising innovation. Salary range Salary range for this job is between $168,500-190,000. Salary rate will take into consideration several factors including location. Key Responsibilities Define and lead the company’s digital advertising technology roadmap. Align advertising technology capabilities with revenue growth, audience strategy, and product development. Evaluate and implement new advertising technologies, platforms and partnerships. Own architecture and performance of core advertising technology stack including ad servers, SSPs, DSP integrations, header bidding and measurement platforms. Own end-to-end technical integration of advertising technology stack: ad server, SSAl, OMS, CRM, analytics, measurement. Act as escalation subject matter expert for troubleshooting, QA, and debugging across ad systems. Lead vendor management for advertising technology platforms (FreeWheel/GAM, data partners, SSAI, OMS, etc.). Ensure compliance with privacy, security and data handling policies. Develop and maintain documentation, SOPs and cross-functional training for ad system use. Drive automation and efficiency improvements in ad delivery and operations. Manage vendor relationships and technology contracts. Revenue Optimization Collaborate with Advertising Sales and Operations to maximize yield and fill rates. Lead initiatives to improve monetization performance and reporting accuracy. Support development of data-driven advertising products and targeting capabilities. Data, Privacy & Compliance Ensure advertising technology complies with privacy and data regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA). Oversee consent management and identity solutions. Partner with legal and data teams on compliance and privacy-safe advertising strategies. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Sales teams to deliver scalable advertising solutions. Support new product launches with integrated monetization strategies. Communicate performance insights and technology opportunities to executive leadership. Qualifications Required Experience 8+ years of experience in digital advertising technology or advertising operations. 5+ years managing teams or leading cross-functional initiatives. Deep experience with major advertising technology platforms (e.g., Google Ad Manager, FreeWheel, Magnite, The Trade Desk, Amazon TAM, Boostr, iSpot.tv, etc.). Experience with integration of measurement (Nielsen, MOAT, IAS), OMS/CRM | (Salesforce, Operative) and SSP. Strong understanding of programmatic advertising and header bidding ecosystems. Experience working with streaming/CTV and digital video monetization. Experience in media, streaming, or digital publishing environments. Familiarity with cloud platforms and data infrastructure. Experience integrating first-party data strategies into advertising. Knowledge of data workflows: VAST/VMAP, identity, targeting segments, and clean room basics. Track record of launching monetizable ad formats on FAST/CTV. Technical & Business Skills Strong understanding of digital advertising workflows and monetization models. Experience with identity, measurement and privacy-safe advertising solutions. Ability to translate business goals into technical execution. Data-driven mindset with strong analytical capabilities.
