
Kitchen, Bath & Lighting Store Sales Design Consultant

Overview
The Sales Design Consultant I position aims to achieve annual sales targets by exceptional customer service, understanding project needs, managing the sales process, tracking orders, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Reporting to the Store Manager, the Sales Design Consultant will have daily interaction with customers, contractors and distributors. Responsibilities include addressing basic issues, escalating complex ones, participating in training, maintaining a tidy showroom, and assisting with store tasks as directed by the Store Manager. This position is deeply focused on achieving sales outcomes and providing best in class customer service.
Responsibilities Drive sales to meet and exceed sales targets set by Store Manager; minimum of $350,000 invoiced sales annually.
Ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by providing:
a customer friendly and a professional environment
greeting and acknowledging every customer
determining scope and factors affecting their project including budget, style preference, layout and function
maintaining professional standards at all times during the customer’s experience
Administer sales process to ensure timely and accurate completion of all sales:
Conduct and document daily follow-up on outstanding quotes
Process quotes and sales paperwork
Contact vendors and shippers to track orders for customers and ensure quality service
Follow-up on sales to ensure customer satisfaction and service
Handles basic issues and problems, and escalates more complex issues to the Store Manager or more senior Sales Design Consultants
Participate in trainings through internal resources and vendor programs in person or online to continue to develop basic sales skills and product knowledge
Help to maintain a well-organized, aesthetically pleasing environment within the showroom
Assist with normal store maintenance tasks (inventory, display maintenance, literature library, etc.)
Other duties/responsibilities as assigned by the Store Manager
Other Job Functions
Drive discussions with Store Manager to analyze and drive sales growth through proficiency in sale metrics and business drivers (close rate, margin, etc.)
Develop repeat sales, new relationships and future business opportunities with trade relationships
Develop a diverse knowledge of all product lines and/or become product line expert
Entry level job site visits and contractor outreach and visits
Job Requirements
1-3 years of relevant sales or industry specific experience preferred.
Undergraduate/trade school/design education completed or in progress preferred OR the ability to demonstrate hands‑on learning through experience. Interior design degree not required
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including retail hours, and occasional evening hours for events
Highly personable, skilled at interacting with clients and prospects at a variety of knowledge and comfort levels
Ability to handle fast‑paced and changing environment
Computer knowledge and skills with the ability to learn First Supply LLC’s business system
Ability to effectively communicate
Ability to read, speak, understand and write English
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure
Attendance on a regular and consistent basis
Satisfactory score on the Caliper Assessment
Valid driver’s license and a driving record which meets underwriting standards
Ability to be bonded as defined by First Supply Group’s fidelity bond insurance carrier
Reliable vehicle with insurance at required level
Proficiency in 20‑20 is a plus
