Assists with a variety of recreational activities and special events duties for community events and in conjunction with community partners. Works a flexible work schedule that includes day, evening and weekend shifts.
The salary range for this position is
$15.76- $21.27 , depending on qualifications and experience.
This opportunity will remain open until filled.
This is a part-time, non-benefitted position working less than 20 hours per week.
Essential Functions: Recreational Activities Functions
On-site presence for Mobile Recreation Trailer rentals, community events and programs with community partners.
Actively oversee and participate in the preparation, implementation and clean-up of fun, safe, and age-appropriate activities.
Provide accurate information, instruction and demonstrate safe game play and rules.
Provide quality leadership for youth and family activities.
Operate city vehicles and trailers.
Maintain inventory, inspect equipment regularly to ensure safety and communicate needed repairs or replacements.
Point of contact for rental inquiries and community partners for mobile recreation trailers.
Event Marketing and Promotions
Assist with promoting events and recreation programs on social media and e-newsletter.
Assist with webpage updates related to events and recreation programs.
Special Event Functions
Assist with execution of activities in community events.
Assist with office tasks.
Assist with day-of event needs, including set up and tear down.
Respond promptly and professionally to resolve issues or concerns.
Other Job Functions
Assist with training and scheduling of seasonal staff.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School graduate or GED required.
Minimum of 18 years of age at time of hire required.
Previous work experience in related work including working with the public highly desired.
Certifications
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Must possess or obtain a First Aid, CPR and Universal Precautions/Bloodborne Pathogens Certifications within 60 days of hire date.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficient using computers and software.
Leadership, teamwork, interpersonal skills and excellent customer service skills required.
Communicate effectively and diplomatically.
Remain calm and professional.
Instruct and coach children.
Organizational & prioritization with attention to the details.
Effective time management and task execution skills required.
Uses independent, sound judgment to react quickly and appropriately in emergency situations.
Must be at least 18 years of age upon hire.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Frequent light to moderate physical effort that includes frequent standing or walking or maintaining arms and hands in the same position for repetitive tasks. Frequently works with light objects and light hand tools.
Frequent exposure to heat and noise along with working outside in the elements.
Occasional strenuous to extreme physical effort that includes frequent use of heavy objects (e.g., 50+ pounds) and may also use heavy tools or require strenuous application in awkward positions.
Occasional exposure to hazards that are predictable or well protected against.
