Sheet Metal Technician Levels & Responsibilities Sheet Metal Technician I (Entry‑Level) Ideal for those with limited or no prior experience in HVAC or sheet metal.
Assist senior team members with the fabrication, assembly, installation, and repair of HVAC‑related sheet metal products, ductwork, and equipment.
Perform general labor tasks on job sites, including material handling, cleanup, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Learn industry best practices under direct supervision while contributing to project success.
Sheet Metal Technician II Requires
3+ years
of hands‑on experience with in‑depth knowledge of sheet metal and dry‑side HVAC applications/design.
Independently fabricate, assemble, install, and repair a variety of HVAC sheet metal products and systems, with some guidance from senior technicians.
Interpret blueprints, measurements, and specifications to ensure accurate and high‑quality work.
Support project timelines and quality standards while developing advanced skills in commercial dry‑side applications.
Sheet Metal Technician III (Senior/Lead Level) Requires
5+ years
of experience with mastery‑level knowledge of sheet metal and dry‑side HVAC applications/design.
Fully independent fabrication, assembly, installation, and repair of all types of HVAC‑related sheet metal products and equipment.
Perform equipment startups, system checkouts, and troubleshooting with minimal supervision.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols, project specifications, and quality standards while mentoring junior team members.
Qualifications & Requirements (All Levels)
Strong commitment to safety, quality, and doing things right the first time.
Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
Reliability, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn and grow.
Ability to lift 50 lbs, work in various conditions (including heights, confined spaces), and use hand/power tools safely.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred.
Must pass a background check and drug screening.
