Job Description A day in the life of a Field Property Adjuster, and what it takes to do the job! As a Field Property Adjuster, you will be dedicated to providing exceptional service to our policyholders. Your primary responsibility will involve traveling to customers\' homes to conduct on-site inspections, investigate coverage, prepare estimates, and settle claims promptly and efficiently. You will also handle virtual claims countrywide, using platforms and software such as Xactimate and ClaimsX Video Collaboration. Your expertise will be particularly focused on water losses, ensuring customers receive the highest level of support and resolution for these claims. Responsibilities The Customer Service Expert – live Allstate\'s Claims Culture by caring, empowering, and restoring; be compassionate, clear, and a committed partner in each claim. Lead with empathy in every interaction. The Investigator – confidently and independently investigate property claims by performing detailed reviews of damage and interpreting policies to determine coverage. The Effective Communicator – use phone, email, and video chat to guide customers through a fast, fair, and easy claims process; adapt communication to meet customer preferences and keep them updated on claim progress. The Negotiator – evaluate and negotiate settlements with customers, vendors, third-party carriers, and claimants in accordance with legal and business standards; manage challenging situations with effective tactics. The Problem Solver – utilize multiple tools (estimate tools, job aids, settlement platforms) in a fast-paced environment, applying strong critical thinking skills. The Recorder – protect the company financially by following policy terms and maintaining accurate documentation in claims systems; ensure timely, accurate recordkeeping on each claim. Preferred Qualifications 2-3 years of outside adjuster experience is highly desired. Proficiency in using Xactimate and other estimating software. Strong critical thinking and technical skills to assess damages and expedite settlements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for exceptional customer service. Ability to travel to customers\' homes and handle virtual claims countrywide. Detail-oriented and organized with a focus on high-quality work. Residency within the posted location is mandatory for this role. Required Qualifications Ability to carry a 50-pound ladder and access up to a 6/12 pitch on one- or two-story roofs. Valid driver\'s license and willingness to travel. Training The training program is designed to help build a claims foundation and familiarize you with systems and processes. Ongoing training opportunities for continuous improvement occur regularly on the job. Note You will be required to attend 2 weeks of training in Dallas, TX. Licensing Requirement As a condition of employment, an adjuster and/or appraiser license may be required; this includes passing a background check. If applicable, you will need to obtain licenses within 60 days of hire. The Hiring Manager and Centralized Licensing team will assist you to obtain proper licensing if required. Sign On Bonus You may be eligible for a $1,000 Licensing Sign-On Bonus if you hold the applicable active licenses, such as Home Resident Property & Casualty License, Designated Home State (DHS) Florida or Texas License, and/or applicable Appraiser License. Current employees or candidates who have previously worked for Allstate are not eligible for this sign-on bonus. Company Car Based on our Company Car Guidelines, this role may qualify for a company car; leadership determines eligibility based on annual work mileage for the location. You may be required to use your personal vehicle until guidelines are met. Mileage reimbursements are provided for personal vehicle usage during work.
