YOUR NEW OPPORTUNITY Reporting to the CEO, serves as a key member of the Executive Team, the Director of Finance and Administration collaborates with national and in-country leadership teams and liaises directly with the Executive Team on administrative matters. The Director of Finance and Administration develops and implements strategies and supervises activities around operations and financial management, human resources, board management, and legal issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervise and oversee the global administrative team in their responsibilities, currently including the Global Finance Manager and Global Administrative Officer to ensure coordination and compliance across all finance and administrative functions globally.

Operations Functions

Oversee all Build Change operations, including contracts, audit compliant procurement and interactions with vendors and clients, insurance providers, landlords, and other vendors.

Review and develop Build Change Standard Operating Procedures, as needed, including Safety and Security Procedures for all programs, oversee implementation and serve as Main Security Focal Point.

Support the establishment of administrative offices in new country programs when needed.

Finance Functions

Work with the Senior Management Team to ensure financial compliance and management of budgets.

Work with the Executive Team, Senior Management Team, and administrative staff, to direct the budgeting process including annual budgets, quarterly updates, pricing for proposals, and financial reports to management, clients, donors and Board of Directors.

Ensure established financial procedures across Build Change programs and locations.

Develop and manage the General Administration annual budget.

Ensure completion of annual audit and IRS Form 990 and all other required financial reporting.

Owns relationships with banking and investment partners and approves treasury strategy and signature authority matrix.

Maintains organization liquidity and ensures accurate monthly reporting of monthly restricted and unrestricted cash balances.

HR Functions

Supervise Global Administrative Officer on all HR matters for Build Change including:

Assure Build Change performs within the laws and regulations at all locations of operation.

Ensure timely payment of all compensation to staff through management of our outsourced PEO (in US) and EOR (outside US) providers

Manage and implement employee manuals and policies.

Oversee recruiting, onboarding and offboarding of all employees.

Management of employee health insurance and emergency evacuation insurance for employees

Management and update employee benefit programs for staff

Oversee annual performance and salary reviews

Governance and Board Management Functions

Supervise Global Administrative Officer in coordination Board administrative items:

Schedule board meetings

Review and oversee reporting packets

Prepare the Board Meeting Agenda and preparation of Minutes

Lead in the development of the Administration and Finance strategy

Legal Functions

Maintain and expand relationships with Build Change’s pro bono legal counsel, work with pro bono lawyers to obtain legal assistance on contracts, Intellectual Property, and other relevant matters.

Manage all registrations and filings; support country program staff with in-country registrations

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE You have:

7 years minimum experience in Finance and Administration leadership position for an international non-profit or for-profit company.

Advanced college degree in Business Administration or something similar.

The ability to lead, make decisions, and delegate to ensure the organization sets and meets key objectives, grows and maintains financial stability, and achieves its mission.

The ability and desire to be a leader and a behavioral role model.

Your experience includes:

Maintaining oversight of financial reporting, budgets and ensuring financial compliance, preferably for US based non profit organizations working internationally.

Efficient operations oversight ranging from legal, website, contracts and vendors.

Managing decentralized teams, including team members in very different time zones.

Working closely with communications, fund development, program implementation and advocacy team members.

Fluent in English

And maybe you also:

Have worked in the Caribbean, Latin America, Asia or emerging nations.

Have some experience working in the international development sector.

Have some accounting experience or have supervised accounting staff.

Bring a hands‑on, get things done attitude, good humour, and positive problem solving skills.
