Job Purpose The Trade Compliance & Freight Analyst supports domestic and international freight operations by managing freight execution, compliance activities, cost controls, and carrier coordination. This role partners closely with PC&L, Engineering, Sales, Purchasing, and external freight forwarders to ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective freight movement while supporting customer and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities Freight Operations & Support

Provide daily freight support to the PC&L team to ensure uninterrupted material and product flow

Support outbound/inbound freight activities, including customs requirements and shipping documentation.

Serve as a technical shipping counsellor for INCOTERMS and engineering freight needs.

Support new product alignment for freight transfers and logistics setup.

Compliance & Trade

Support HTS classifications outside normal scope, including new programs, in coordination with Copper Hill Inc.

Support C-TPAT compliance activities

Provide USMCA data support, certificate distribution, and customer USMCA requirement fulfilment in coordination with Copper Hill.

Manage country of origin declarations and foreign trade correspondence

Support U.S. Customs ACH audit reviews, including proper coding and correction of invalid Importer of Record (IOR) assignments.

Support international freight cost management, including service levels and rate monitoring

Process freight invoices through U.S. Bank systems, including non-compliance review and approvals.

Prepare weekly and monthly reports supporting Finance GL account assignments and P&L input review.

Manage dispute rejections, resolutions, and freight claims submissions.

Recommend lane and carrier selections to support operational and cost objectives.

Support carrier negotiations for pricing and cost-savings opportunities.

Administer premium freight logs and support freight escalation calls with freight forwarders

Research and resolve lost or delayed shipments, coordinating with freight forwarders as needed

Cross-Functional & Global Support

Participate in the North America Freight Team, providing input and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Provide freight-related data and support to Sales and Purchasing, including supplier engagement.

What we are looking for

4 – 6 years of experience in the transportation role

Bachelor's degree or equivalent on the job experience

On the job experience dealing with Customs, duties, tariffs

Required to work with global team and 4PL (4th party provider)
