Protect-all is a world‑class manufacturer of premium quality films for both flexible packaging and thermal laminating applications. Our packaging films cover a wide variety of products including lidding films, cheese sealant, light and heavy‑gauge pre‑lamps, barrier webs, numerous cosmetic web films, forming and non‑forming structures, as well as industrial and specialty films.
Under the general direction of the Sales and Marketing Director, the
Inside Sales Representative
is responsible for selling company products, developing and securing new customers, and may assist in investigating potential new product uses or applications. Most sales are conducted via telephone/e‑mail; however, travel to local customers is encouraged and some travel to non‑local customers may be necessary.
Responsibilities
Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from ad inquiries, trade shows, direct mail responses, aged leads, dealer resellers, business directories, Internet websites, and other sources.
Make outbound lead follow‑up calls to potential and existing customers by telephone and e‑mail to qualify leads and sell products and services.
Handle inbound sales lead calls to convert calls into sales.
Overcome technical and business objections of prospective customers.
Emphasize saleable features, quote prices and credit terms, and prepare sales orders for orders obtained.
Estimate delivery dates to customers based on knowledge of own firm’s production and delivery schedules.
Coordinate customer training.
Build and maintain customer relationships.
Prepare sales order reports of business transactions.
Enter new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
Work with outside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.
Investigate and resolve customer problems with deliveries.
Travel to and attend trade shows.
Travel to customers for sales visits (approximately 10‑15% travel).
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four‑year college or university; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Flexible packaging experience is preferred.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Knowledge of Microsoft applications (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Exchange, Cisco Networking).
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
