Biosimilar Account Specialist – Scranton, PA

Role Summary
The Account Specialist will promote our client’s biosimilar products to Immunology, Dermatology, Oncology physician offices, and integrated hospital system accounts.
Immunology Account Specialist Goals
Achieve territory sales expectations for promoted biosimilar products
Maintain company and client employee compliance policies and procedures
Identify and build relationships with key decision makers and healthcare providers
Frequently collaborate and communicate with client’s customer‑facing roles
Primary Activities
Promote biosimilar products to immunology, dermatology, oncology physician offices, and integrated health systems
Launch new products in complex integrated health systems
Develop and implement business plans aligned to client’s customer‑facing roles
Work collaboratively with account team members in hospitals and physician‑owned infusion centers
Engage decision makers, shorten buying cycles, and generate new orders
Implement national strategies and programs
Key Working Relationships
Report to Associate Director, Area Manager
Collaborate frequently with client’s customer‑facing roles
Maintain positive working relationships with healthcare customers and client contacts
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Relevant experience of 2+ years in biopharmaceutical sales or related healthcare sales or services (e.g., medical device sales, infusion services, health IT, health system networks)
Required credentials, including vaccination status, may be necessary for customer‑facing roles
Preferred
3+ years of specialty sales experience selling biologics in immunology, dermatology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, or oncology
Experience with specialty pharmacy products, buy‑and‑bill, and/or B2B selling models
Complex account and territory management experience
Experience collaborating with multiple customer‑facing roles
Experience in hospital environments, infusion centers, and specialty pharmacy
In-depth knowledge of billing codes, reimbursement, support, medical benefits dynamics, managed care, and product approval processes
Understanding of benefit verification for patient coverage
Experience working with Medicare Part B
Knowledge of specialty pharmacy
Ability to drive utilization of an infused product in a complex integrated healthcare system
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Intellectual curiosity and effective selling skills, including probing questions
Strong ethics and compliance knowledge in a regulated industry
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Successful completion of client training required
Ability to travel as needed within territory (including overnight and/or weekend)
Maintain required credentials such as vaccination records, training completions, and adherence to HCP/hospital policies
Possibly required to obtain a license to detail/sell in jurisdictions such as DC, Chicago, Nevada, or Jackson Memorial Health in Miami Dade County
