Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.***Responsibilities:**Responsible for leading all recruitment activities for an assigned region or category. Recruits, evaluates, and participates in the selection of candidates for admission. Maintains liaison with all organizations and individuals involved in the admissions process. Develops public presentations designed to promote the institution. Advises parents and applicants about educational planning. May possess specialized knowledge in one or more areas of admissions, e.g. international recruitment, multicultural recruitment, web-based recruitment, etc. May have project or program responsibility.**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*** Demonstrates considerable knowledge and experience about admissions and the application review process. May supervise and direct admissions staff in executing the application review of applicants. Plans, directs, and coordinates department wide office policies and activities related to freshmen and transfer application review.* Develops and implements department wide priorities, protocols for counseling, and project and support staff.* Manages and plans high school visits, off campus admissions interviews and receptions, college fairs and alumni admission events in assigned regions.* Maintains frequent email and telephone contact with prospective students, families, and secondary school counselors regarding the complexities of the admissions process and the status of multiple and on-going admissions decisions. Prepares, coordinates, and delivers group information sessions for prospective students and family members.* Establishes, manages, and directs long term goals for the annual application review calendar.* Communicates with various University senior department heads regarding the admissions process.* Guides and develops the interview training process for staff, students, and alumni and provides feedback.* Implements operation and counseling staff initiatives to ensure efficient and effective review process.* Other duties as assigned.**MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE*** Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience in admissions or related field or equivalent required* Or equivalent combination of education and experience**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES*** Knowledge and skills in such areas as counseling and recruiting required**LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS*** DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State upon hire requiredThe University of Rochester is committed to fostering, cultivating, and preserving an inclusive and welcoming culture to advance the University’s Mission to Learn, Discover, Heal, Create – and Make the World Ever Better.
