The Distribution Manager leads business development efforts by expanding market visibility, strengthening producer relationships, and driving profitable growth across the U.S. This role focuses on building and maintaining strong partnerships with agents and brokers, representing the organization at industry events, and collaborating closely with underwriting and marketing teams to align distribution strategy with corporate objectives. Success requires deep knowledge of the commercial insurance and E&S marketplace, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to operate independently while delivering consistent, high‑quality engagement with producers nationwide.

Responsibilities:

Meet with producers across the U.S. to increase visibility, communicate product offerings, and identify opportunities for profitable growth.

Provide underwriting, marketing, and leadership teams with actionable feedback from producer interactions.

Identify and cultivate relationships with key producer personnel whose business aligns with company appetite.

Attend industry conferences and schedule multiple strategic meetings per day to strengthen relationships and influence submission flow.

Document observations, recommendations, and follow‑up items from producer meetings and communicate them to leadership.

Monitor industry and competitor developments and assess their impact on distribution strategy.

Represent the organization with professionalism, energy, and a solutions‑focused approach.

Collaborate with senior leadership to set goals, plan territory coverage, and execute distribution strategies.

Plan and host producer dinners, social events, and other relationship‑building activities.

Prepare trip reports and other communications to ensure insights are shared with underwriting and leadership teams.

Perform additional duties as needed to support distribution and business development objectives.

Qualifications:

Broad knowledge of commercial insurance products, the E&S marketplace, and underwriting practices.

Outgoing, energetic, and able to work independently while proactively driving business development efforts.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation capabilities.

Ability to organize and lead productive business development meetings and calls.

Strong organizational skills to manage a wide range of producer‑focused initiatives.

Demonstrated ability to build and maintain trust‑based relationships.

Proficiency with CRM platforms (such as Microsoft Dynamics) and Microsoft Office applications.

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, insurance, economics, or a related field.

Minimum of ten years of experience in business development, marketing, or sales within the insurance industry, preferably in E&S.

Professional designations such as CPCU or CIC are a plus.

Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the U.S.

Ability to work in a hybrid environment, including at least two days per week in the office.
