Job Summary Perform complex agricultural work producing livestock and agricultural products, while monitoring inmate activities. Work under general supervision with moderate latitude for initiative and independent judgment.
Essential Functions
Provide technical assistance in the general care, accountability, and oversight of livestock program operations.
Assist in producing, processing, and distributing livestock, feed rations, and commodities; help with breeding and preventive medical treatment.
Oversee the operation of agricultural machinery; assist in construction, repair, and maintenance of facilities.
Implement established training programs; assist in maintaining inventory of materials and supplies; maintain records and prepare correspondence and reports.
Maintain security of tools, machinery, and equipment; respond to emergencies; search for escaped inmates; transport assigned inmates; perform various correctional and custodial functions.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Agriculture Specialist I:
Salary $3,537.92/month (GR.A14). ERS Retiree salary $3,463.82.
Agriculture Specialist II:
Salary $3,716.86/month (GR.A15). ERS Retiree salary $3,638.40.
Agriculture Specialist III:
Salary $3,906.52/month (GR.A16). ERS Retiree salary $3,823.44.
Career ladder position – consideration given to education and experience.
Only one position available in the Manufacturing, Agribusiness, and Logistics Division; submit one application.
