The Summer School Title I Director will oversee and coordinate the summer school programming for students currently in grades Kindergarten through grade four, running from July 6, 2026, to July 30, 2026, with program hours from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and director's hours from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM. This position is essential in ensuring the program runs smoothly, fostering a positive learning environment, and enhancing the educational experience for our students. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for supporting students from diverse backgrounds.

Stipend

$3,650.00

Responsibilities

Conduct a spring meeting with teachers to collaboratively review the summer program.

Collect and organize necessary paperwork from families prior to the start of the program.

Organize, order, and distribute supplies to staff.

Communicate effectively with families to ensure awareness of program information.

Collect and maintain accurate daily attendance records and contact families of students not in attendance.

Create, oversee, and participate in duties (morning breakfast, lunch, recesses, etc.).

Work collaboratively with the school nutrition department to ensure that breakfast and lunch are provided to students daily.

Supervise all classrooms, ensuring adherence to the instructional plan and that teaching staff are supported in delivering effective instruction.

Address and manage student behavior concerns promptly and effectively to maintain a safe learning environment.

Provide leadership and support to summer school staff to maximize program effectiveness.

Secure staff coverage as needed i.e. substitutes.

Plan and implement family engagement activities designed to involve parents and guardians in the educational process and enhance community involvement.

Administer program surveys to families and staff for continued improvement purposes.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Education, Administration, or a related field (Master's preferred).

Previous experience in an educational setting, particularly in programs serving Title I populations, is highly desirable.

Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask effectively.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact positively with students, staff, and families.

Ability to manage student behavior effectively and foster a supportive learning environment.
