Educational and Experience Requirement
Associate's degree required. Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, photography, art, or a related field preferred. Two years of relevant experience in photography, sports media, or related fields. A combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge and skills may be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position
Performs specialist duties and assists the Department of Athletics and the Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) Division by capturing high-quality images of athletic events, student-athletes, coaches, and related university activities.
Primary Responsibilities
Captures professional-quality photography of athletic events, practices, and promotional activities. Assists with videography tasks, including filming, editing, and assembling highlight reels or promotional content. Supports Graphics Designers and Graphics Coordinators by providing images for print, digital, and web content. Edits and retouches images for various uses, including social media, publications, and marketing materials. Organizes and maintain photography and video archives. Works collaboratively with athletics staff, students, and other university personnel to meet project needs. Performs other related duties as assigned
Other Specifications
Knowledge of photography equipment and digital imaging software (Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, or equivalent) required. Videography skills, including filming and basic editing, are a plus. Strong attention to detail, creativity, and reliability. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for games and events. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Experience in a university or collegiate athletics environment is a plus but not required. Maintains contacts with personnel. Requires a general knowledge of standard office functions. Requires good knowledge of procedures and practices. Must be able to use standard office software. Must be able to apply policies and procedures and solve routine problems of a repetitive nature.
