What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
Code procedures and enter charges to comply with federal/state regulations and internal policies
Coordinate with the Practice Coordinator and Revenue Integrity to ensure necessary documentation supports selected procedure codes
Conduct audits to evaluate the accuracy of selected codes
Develop methodologies to improve identified coding issues
Work independently while effectively communicating with various personnel
What is Required (Qualifications)
Must have a coding credential (RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CCS, RN)
Minimum of 2 years of hospital and/or physician practice coding experience or successful completion of the one-year Revenue Integrity Internship Program
Demonstrated communication skills with the ability to work independently
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
B.S. degree in Nursing, Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or Business Administration
Three to five years of experience in a hospital and/or physician practice setting
