Audit Senior Associate

Good Works Talent, Sioux Falls, SD, United States

At Good Works Talent, we partner with high-performing public accounting firms across the country to find, attract, and engage the next generation of audit leaders.

If you’re a Senior Auditor ready to step into more ownership, or an Audit Manager who wants real influence without sacrificing your life outside of work, we should talk.

Our clients range from well-established regional firms to nationally growing practices. What they have in common? They are investing in their people. They are building strong cultures. And they are serious about developing future partners and practice leaders, not just filling seats.

Why Work With Good Works Talent? We are not posting jobs for one firm at a time.

We represent multiple growth-minded firms actively hiring Senior Auditors and Audit Managers in markets across the U.S. When you connect with us, you gain access to:

Confidential opportunities that are not always publicly posted

Firms that prioritize sustainable hours and real career paths

Leadership teams looking for future partners, not just production

Practices expanding in construction, real estate, manufacturing, healthcare, and other specialty areas

Instead of applying firm by firm, you can have one thoughtful conversation with us and we will introduce you to environments that actually match your goals.

What These Roles Typically Involve While each firm is different, most Senior and Manager-level audit roles include:

Leading audit engagements from planning through final reporting

Mentoring and reviewing staff and senior associates

Managing multiple client relationships with confidence and clarity

Identifying process improvements and efficiencies

Leveraging cloud-based and data-driven audit technology

Partnering with firm leadership on growth initiatives

At the Manager level especially, firms are looking for professionals who can balance technical excellence with leadership presence. Someone who builds trust with clients and develops strong teams.

What Success Looks Like The professionals our clients hire tend to:

Build credibility quickly with both clients and internal teams

Deliver consistent, high-quality work without burnout

Develop the next wave of talent under them

Think beyond compliance and contribute strategic insight

Show interest in long-term leadership and firm impact

These are stepping stones to Senior Manager, Practice Leader, and Partner paths.

What You Bring Most of our Senior and Manager candidates have:

3 to 8 or more years of public accounting audit experience

Experience leading staff and owning sections of engagements

Strong GAAP and GAAS knowledge

CPA license or active progress toward it

Confidence communicating with clients and internal teams

Industry specialization is a plus. Construction, real estate, manufacturing, nonprofit, and healthcare experience are all valued. Curiosity and adaptability often matter just as much.

Work Models and Compensation Our client firms typically offer:

Hybrid flexibility

Sustainable annual hour expectations

Competitive compensation aligned with experience and credentials

Comprehensive benefits, retirement contributions, and professional development support

We prioritize firms that understand something simple. High performers stay where they feel respected, developed, and trusted.

Why Candidates Turn to Good Works Talent You will not get pushed into something that does not fit.

With more than a decade of experience in public accounting recruiting, we understand how nuanced these moves can be. Whether you are quietly exploring or actively ready to transition, we handle conversations with discretion and strategy.

Sometimes the right next move is not about compensation.

Sometimes it is about mentorship.

Or equity potential.

Or leaving a culture that looks good on paper but feels exhausting in practice.

We help you sort that out.
