Job Objective: Provides commercial analysis of potential acquisitions and divestitures.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Works within the A&D team to identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities
Supports diligence efforts including financial modeling, contract analysis, and document negotiation
Reviews and validates VDR materials for completeness, accuracy, and consistency with internal data sources
Builds cost models to evaluate seller's hold case and identify value creation opportunities through operational improvements including detailed analysis of LOS for shrink, differentials, NGL yields, fixed and variable costs, overhead expenses, and investments
Drives cross-functional engagement on the A&D team and with Operations, Accounting, and Marketing to validate underwriting assumptions, synthesize key insights, and deepen investment understanding for more informed decision-making
Creates executive-level presentations that clearly communicate asset evaluation findings, key assumptions, and investment recommendations to senior management
Conducts strategic research on target companies, industry dynamics, and macro trends to support ad hoc projects and strategic planning initiatives
Delivers regular intelligence updates covering recent M&A transactions and commodity market developments
Maintains market comps database, tracks transaction metrics, and provides valuation insights to support decision-making and benchmarking
Supports various operational aspects of the group (reporting, analysis, etc.)
Adheres to established work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work
Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential
Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional associations
Adheres to the company's values - integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment, and innovation

Qualifications
Outstanding work ethic
Minimum of 5 years total experience, with a preference of A&D, accounting or financial analysis experience
Preferences include prior working experience with Hilcorp, private equity, corporate or investment banking, or top-tier consulting experience
Ability to create and maintain detailed and complex financial models
Exceptional proficiency in data management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex financial information into an organized and presentable manner
Strong attention to detail and insistence on accurate, high-quality deliverables
Ability to work effectively and create value in ambiguous situations
Self-starter with strong analytical skills, developed networking skills, reasoned and mature professional judgment
Resourceful, creative, and an excellent team member who is also able to operate independently and in a team environment
Capability to perform multiple, diverse tasks and achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and precision
Ability to establish and maintain effective internal and external working relationships
Proficiency in the use and application of the following software: Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel/PowerPoint, Word and Outlook)
Education Requirements
Required: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year university or college with a degree in Engineering or Finance
Preferred: MBA or Master's in Petroleum Engineering
