Position Summary
Ardelyx is a publicly traded commercial biopharmaceutical company founded with a mission to discover, develop and commercialize innovative first-in-class medicines that meet significant unmet medical needs. Ardelyx has two commercial products approved in the United States, IBSRELA (tenapanor) and XPHOZAH (tenapanor). Ardelyx has agreements for the development and commercialization of tenapanor outside of the U.S. Kyowa Kirin commercializes PHOZEVEL (tenapanor) for hyperphosphatemia in Japan. A New Drug Application for tenapanor for hyperphosphatemia has been approved in China with Fosun Pharma. Knight Therapeutics commercializes IBSRELA in Canada.
The Associate Director, Trade and Distribution Analytics, reporting to the Senior Director, Patient Services and Market Access Analytics, will lead analytics and reporting initiatives that support specialty pharmacy (SP) performance, trade operations, and distribution strategy. This role will be responsible for generating actionable insights from specialty pharmacy and distribution data to inform strategic decision-making across Market Access, Trade, Patient Services, and Commercial teams.
The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in specialty pharmacy and supply chain analytics with strong technical capabilities, business acumen, and an ability to translate complex data into meaningful, strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
Responsibilities
Serve as the subject matter expert for trade and specialty pharmacy data within the Market Access and Commercial Analytics team
Develop, train, and support reporting frameworks to track product distribution, inventory levels, and specialty pharmacy dispensing trends
Support analytics and reporting related to trade pharmacy, and distribution performance
Identify opportunities to improve analytics capabilities, automation, and reporting infrastructure
Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for operational and strategic decision‑making
Lead development and maintenance of specialty pharmacy analytics to support patient access strategies
Analyze trends in dispensing, demand‑to‑dispense metrics, time to fill, and other patient access indicators to identify risks, opportunities, and operational improvements
Lead the Specialty Pharmacy tokenization project, overseeing the end‑to‑end process including design, implementation, and ongoing optimization
Partner with Specialty Pharmacy partners, IT teams, and external data aggregators to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of specialty pharmacy data
Identify data discrepancies, reporting gaps, or anomalies and lead resolution efforts, including coordinating data restatements with data aggregators when necessary
Support leadership reporting for Monthly Revenue Reviews (MRR), Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR), and Board of Director (BOD) reporting related to trade pharmacy and distribution performance
Partner with Market Access, Patient Services, Commercial Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and IT on analytics initiatives and cross‑functional projects as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree; advanced degree preferred, in business, Finance, Data Science, Health Economics, or related field
8–10 years of progressive experience in Specialty Pharmacies operations, Trade and Distribution, Market Access or Commercial Analytics within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry or equivalent experience
Strong understanding of specialty pharmacy data, distribution channels, and pharmaceutical trade operations
Experience working with specialty pharmacy data aggregators and complex healthcare datasets
Working knowledge of Supply Chain data (852, 867, 844 and chargeback) and Specialty Pharmacy data (dispense, inventory, and status)
Expertise with data visualization and analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Snowflake, SQL, Excel)
Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical compliance standards, including HIPAA and manufacturer data privacy regulations
Demonstrated success translating complex analytics into actionable business insights for senior stakeholders
Excellent collaboration, communication, and presentation skills; ability to influence and align across cross‑functional teams
Strong project management and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically
Compensation The anticipated annualized base pay range for this full‑time position is $185,000–$226,000. Ardelyx utilizes industry data to ensure that our compensation is competitive and aligned with our industry peers. Actual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors, including years of relevant experience, training, qualifications, and internal equity. The compensation package may also include an annual bonus target and equity awards, subject to eligibility and other requirements.
