Job Summary Chartwells K12 is seeking a motivated, passionate, and experienced

Director of Nutrition and Wellness (Registered Dietitian)

to join the leadership team at its largest client, Duval County Public Schools.

Location: Jacksonville, FL. Schedule: Monday through Friday.

Salary: $110,000–$125,000. Other compensation: Bonus Eligible. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until all openings are filled.

The Director of Nutrition and Wellness will lead the wellness department, own menu development, ensure compliance with USDA K12 nutrition guidelines, collaborate with the Executive Chef and Supply Chain department, develop new recipes, and build cycle menus to drive student participation. The role includes senior leadership meetings, education on risk management of food allergies and special diets, site visits for quality control, and engagement with students and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Understand and promote the Company’s food philosophy, sustainability commitments, and nutrition programs.

Develop, implement, and track the effectiveness of corporate nutrition and wellness programming.

Lead team projects related to the growth of nutrition and health.

Educate internal teams on Company protocols related to risk management of food allergies and special diets.

Conduct site visits for quality control of nutritional program and on‑site programming.

Qualifications

Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) – required.

Licensed by the State Dietetics Licensing Board in applicable states – required.

Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum of five (5) years of Dietitian professional work experience – required.

Experience in contract food service, schools, college, and business environments strongly preferred.

Food Service Management Experience – required.

General Hospitality knowledge and interest in sustainability and sustainable food practices.

Strong public speaking skills and ability to deliver audience‑appropriate presentations.
