Full-Time | Trinity, Florida About Heartwood Preserve Heartwood Preserve Conservation Cemetery is a 41-acre naturepreserveand conservation cemetery dedicated to protecting Florida’s native ecosystems while offering environmentally responsible natural burial. Our work allows families to honor loved ones while permanently preserving land for future generations.
Heartwood Preserve exists to protect and restore native Florida ecosystems while offering families a meaningful alternative to conventional burial. We are a small, innovativebusinesswith a strong environmental and social ethic and a commitment to education, conservation, and community engagement.
About the Role We areseekinga compassionate and motivated Family Advisor to join our team. This role combines family advising, community outreach, and mission-driven marketing to help more people learn about and choose natural burial.
The position is ideal for someone who enjoys connecting with people, communicating meaningful ideas, and helping families make thoughtful end-of-life decisions. The Family AdvisorrepresentsHeartwood Preserve in one-on-one conversations, community presentations, and educational tours of the preserve.
Key Responsibilities Family Advising & Client Services
Meet with familiesregardingpre-need and at-need burial arrangements
Guide families through natural burial options with empathy and clarity
Support families in making informed burial arrangement decisions
Conduct guided tours of the preserve and cemetery
Respond to phone, email, and visitor inquiries
Prepare contracts andmaintainaccurateclient records
Assistwith burial services and relatedlogistics
Outreach & Community Engagement
Implement outreach and marketing initiatives
Represent Heartwood Preserve at community events and presentations
Helpcoordinate tours, educational events, and workshops
Collaborate with marketing partners on newsletters, social media, and communications
Build relationships with community partners and aligned organizations
EssentialSkillsand Qualifications
Compassionate communication and ability to discuss end-of-life planning with empathy
Strong relationship-building skills with families, visitors, and community partners
Confidence inpublic speaking and leading small group tours or presentations
Strong organization and attention to detail
Clear written communication for email, newsletters, and outreach materials
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities within a small team, working both independently and collaboratively
Proficiencywithoffice software, email platforms, and CRM or database systems
Two years of college coursework
Alignment with the mission of natural burial and environmental stewardship
Job Requirements
Includesevening or weekend events and travelthroughoutthe Tampa Bayarea
Must havereliable transportationand livewithin commuting distance of Trinity FL
This is not a remotework position
Includes regular time bothindoors and outdoors, including walkingon natural terrain
Candidates may come from a variety of professional backgrounds.May include:
Client advising or consultative sales
Counseling, social work, or pastoral care
Marketing or communications
Event planning or public engagement
Community outreach or nonprofit work
Environmental education or conservation organizations
Funeral service, hospice, or grief support
Preferred (Not Required)
Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills a plus
Familiarity with end-of-life planning or funeral services
Knowledge of Florida'snaturalenvironmentor conservation practices
Experience with CRM systems or client databases
Experience planning events, workshops, or educational programs
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Salary Range $19 - 21hourly,plus bonuses
