
Marketing and Donor Relations Specialist

Job Description
The Marketing and Donor Relations Specialist is responsible for creating content across the Foundation's print and digital platforms to effectively communicate its mission and impact. This position oversees editorial calendars, produces engaging stories and press releases and writes strategic content for social media and the website. In addition to content creation, the position provides high-quality donor relations support and helps plan Foundation events.
Content Creation. Develop and write Foundation-focused content for a variety of communication channels, including newsletters, press releases, blog posts, social media, website updates and print materials. Oversee editorial calendars and ensure timely distribution of weekly and seasonal content.
Donor Relations. Provide high-quality support to the daily functions of donor management, scholarship management and overall stewardship activities of the Foundation.
Event Planning. Assist in the planning and execution of Foundation events.
Other. Perform other duties as assigned
Educations/Degrees Required Experience:
Bachelor's degree required in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing or a related field.
Experience 1 to 3 years of professional experience in writing, communications or a related field.
Key Skills, Knowledge And Personal Characteristics
Ability to follow multiple and sometimes competing tasks through to completion with minimal supervision and within the deadlines set for each project/task required
Strong understanding of AP style, grammar and storytelling for both print and digital platforms
Experience writing audience-specific content for multiple channels
Strong verbal and written skills
Acute attention to detail and accuracy
Strong interpersonal skills to interact with donors, grantees and community leaders
Familiarity with event logistics, registration process and vendor coordination
Willingness to support others in a team-oriented setting
Experience with email marketing software (Emma, Constant Contact, Mail Chimp, etc.)
Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with Adobe design program
