A growing manufacturing company is seeking a Customer Service / Inside Sales Representative to support business-to-business customer accounts. This role is highly customer-facing and transactional, focusing on managing product inquiries, preparing quotes, and coordinating orders with internal departments.
Job Title: Inside Sales Representative
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (30‑minute unpaid lunch)
Pay Rate: $25 – $30 per hour
Location: Union County NJ
Direct Hire
85% of calls will be inbound from customers, with about 15% outbound follow-up.
Key Responsibilities
Respond to customer inquiries regarding products, pricing, and order status
Prepare and deliver customer quotes and proposals based on pricing and past orders
Process and review purchase orders to ensure accuracy in pricing, drawings, and shipping information
Communicate with customers to resolve discrepancies related to orders, quotes, or documentation
Work closely with production, scheduling, and internal teams to track order status and ensure timely fulfillment
Attend daily production meetings to stay informed on order progress and priorities
Enter and manage purchase orders in ERP systems (IQMS) as needed
Provide follow-up communication with customers regarding quotes, orders, and updates
Support general administrative tasks and assist with phone coverage when needed
Qualifications
3–4 years of B2B customer service experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Experience speaking with business clients about product needs and order details (not a high-volume call center role)
Strong communication skills with the ability to work across internal departments and external customers
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Basic math skills including working with pricing, decimals, and conversions
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
Preferred
Experience preparing quotes or managing transactional customer accounts
Familiarity with ERP systems such as IQMS
Bilingual Spanish is a plus but not required
