here at Lander University prior to beginning the position. Compensation: Selected candidate will receive a 50% tuition and fee waiver as well as a $3000 stipend per semester. Note that if the GA position does not relate directly to their graduate studies the student will be taxed on the stipend and tuition benefits. Graduate Assistants work approximately 20 hours per week during the school year. Graduate Assistantships may be renewed for one additional year. Primary Responsibilities: The Graduate Assistant for Fraternity and Sorority Life will support the continued growth and development of the fraternity and sorority community by mentoring student leaders, advising councils and chapters, and assisting with the planning and execution of key departmental initiatives and events. This role will place a primary focus on supporting the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) community through intentional relationship building, program development, and initiatives that strengthen visibility, engagement, and chapter success. The Graduate Assistant will assist with the coordination and implementation of structured recruitment processes, support leadership development efforts across councils, and collaborate with the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life to enhance community standards and member experiences. Additional responsibilities include assisting with event logistics such as planning, setup, and cleanup, supporting major programs and traditions within the fraternity and sorority community, and helping maintain effective communication with student leaders. An understanding of fraternities, sororities, and community development as well as membership in a social fraternity or sorority is not required but is preferred.
