Overview
Position Summary : This position is accountable for building and setting forms made of wood, metal, vinyl, and other materials in accordance with customer specifications (plans). The Form Setter drives wooden and metal stakes with a sledgehammer and drives or screws nails and other fasteners to secure the forms. The incumbent must have the ability and flexibility to work varying shifts and long hours (8-12 hours). Weekend work and extra hours occur according to production needs and at the discretion of the Supervisor. The incumbent must support the guiding beliefs and core values of Orion, centered on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Teamwork, with each built upon the foundation of Integrity.
Specific Responsibilities
Builds, erects, and aligns forms for various concrete structures and pier foundations utilizing preformed forming systems.
Performs the setting of anchor bolts for drilled pier foundations.
Estimates concrete quantities and appropriate mixes.
Interprets blueprints and reads survey stakes and calculates areas and volumes.
Spreads concrete to specified depth and workable consistency.
Performs rough leveling and shaping of concrete surfaces.
Removes rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces using a power grinder, etc.
Mixes cement using a concrete mixing machine.
Provides assistance to other workers and foreman as necessary.
Mentors and trains other foundation employees.
Completes and maintains work records, field paperwork, and generates reports.
Supports the drilling process when necessary.
Operates all equipment and tools required to do each job, including cement mixing machines, power trowels, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and instruments.
Maintains equipment and tools to ensure long-lasting use.

Employee Safety and Compliance
Responsible and accountable for incumbent's own personal safety and the safety of all co-workers.
Authorized and obligated to stop work on any task whenever an unsafe condition is observed.
Complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and Company policies; subject to disciplinary action for non-compliance.
Reports violations promptly and is subject to disciplinary action for failure to report.
Performs other duties as assigned by immediate supervision (e.g., certification or safety training).
Position Requirements A minimum of one year of experience in Concrete Structural Construction, finishing concrete structures and pier foundations, and setting steel preformed forming systems is required. A high school diploma or GED is preferred. In addition, the incumbent must:
Be able to work in varying weather and site conditions.
Be able to lift, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and perform other related activities as needed.

Physical/Mental Requirements The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation and must be able to wear and properly utilize PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, steel-toed shoes, or other protective equipment as required).
The individual must have the ability to identify critical issues and formulate action plans with all levels of management, including corporate and executive. The incumbent must remain calm during emergencies and follow directions to evacuate the work area if needed.
