Call Center Rep or Operator

Duration: 3-6+ Months (On-Going Contract)
Pay Rate:
$19.00 (W2)
per hour
This role is 100% ONSITE
SHIFT:
SAT - MON 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM (LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY)
The initial contract will be for 90 days but is subject to extension upon excellent performance.
Dispatch Operator will work indoors and on-site in a control room environment to monitor roadways and to ensure the safe and efficient movement of traffic. They will be tasked with managing scheduled and unscheduled traffic incidents, and dispatching responders accordingly by utilizing Intelligent Transportation Systems devices.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Operate various computer based traffic management systems to manage traffic and incidents on roadways and improve traffic conditions.
Monitor roadways via surveillance cameras and detection systems.
Monitor all traffic devices and computer equipment associated with the system.
Maintain advanced knowledge on the operation of all traffic equipment, computers and software associated with the traffic systems.
Utilize traffic equipment for incident management and the improvement of travel time, safety, and quality of life of the traveling motorists and toll customers.
Continually checks the accuracy and validity of the messages displayed on all DMS and 511.
Aware of all 511 messages broadcasted on a particular system.
Enter incident information into computer systems using traffic software.
Become familiar with the roadways and understands the purpose and location of each traffic device (i.e. detector stations, CCTV, and 511).
Alert operator staff to new and existing memos.
Use SOG to detect, dispatch, monitor, and document roadway incidents.
Confer with partners (highway patrol, Service Patrols, Local Law Enforcement, Fire Rescue, etc.) as well as adjacent Traffic Management Centers or other DOT Regions to coordinate resources for incidents that may affect regional travel.
Dispatch Service Patrols and assists Service Patrols with other tasks, such as phone calls, etc.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: ** MUST BE ABLE TO INTERVIEW ONSITE **
Experience working for a Call Center or as an Operator
Experience contributing within a team environment
Basic computer knowledge
Operational knowledge of MS Office and MS Outlook
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Must be able to pass a drug test
Must pass a criminal background check
