Oversee daily operations and performance tuning of SQL Server databases, focusing on monitoring, capacity planning, and query optimization for optimal performance. Installation & Configuration:
Manage the installation, configuration, and patch management of SQL Server environments while efficiently overseeing SQL Server Agent jobs. Backup & Recovery:
Develop and maintain robust backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability. High Availability & Disaster Recovery:
Maintain existing HA/DR solutions (e.g., Always On Availability Groups) and assist in their implementation to ensure uninterrupted service. Security Management:
Administer SQL Server security measures, including logins, users, and permissions, ensuring compliance with security policies. Troubleshooting & Support:
Diagnose and resolve database issues, providing support to application teams and playing a critical role in incident resolution. Documentation:
Maintain detailed documentation for database systems and processes, facilitating knowledge sharing within the team. Essential Duties: Design and review database frameworks, ensuring compliance with data modeling standards and maintenance practices. Support internal staff with queries related to application and DBMS technology. Perform thorough root cause analysis for issues affecting database availability, coordinating with vendor support as required. Be available for after-hours support for database refreshes, technology upgrades, and other critical tasks. Assist in establishing technical standards and provide training to application developers on best practices. Engage in projects related to database management and stay up-to-date with industry trends. Carry out additional tasks as assigned. Qualifications: Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or GED. 1-3 years of experience in Information Technology. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. 3-5+ years of experience in SQL Server Database Administration. Familiarity with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is advantageous. Scripting skills in T-SQL, Python, and/or PowerShell are beneficial. Experience with SolarWinds DPA for performance monitoring is a plus. Familiarity with the following is a bonus: Cloud SQL on Google Cloud Platform, Postgres or AlloyDB databases, and MySQL on Linux. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and Terraform. Knowledge of Linux OS and AI tools such as Copilot and Sidekick. SQL Server Certifications. Travel Requirement:
