We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on

Marketing Manager

to lead brand development, drive innovation, and elevate our brand presence in a highly regulated and competitive marketplace.

Position Overview The Marketing Manager will participate in the strategic planning and will be responsible for leading executional marketing efforts for both

Vikings

and

Absolute Fire . This role combines brand building, innovation pipeline management, content creation, trade marketing, event activation, and annual planning.

This is an entrepreneurial role ideal for someone who can think strategically while executing tactically in a fast-paced, small-company environment.

Key Responsibilities Brand Strategy & Development

Participate in the development and execute annual marketing plans for Vikings and Absolute Fire

Define and refine brand positioning, voice, and visual identity

Ensure brand consistency across packaging, digital, retail, and event activations

Monitor competitive landscape and identify opportunities for differentiation

Communication & Content Calendar

Develop and manage the annual and quarterly communication calendar

Plan and coordinate product launches, promotions, and seasonal campaigns

Oversee creation of compliant marketing materials (digital, print, POS, website, social media)

Ensure all communications comply with Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board (WSLCB) regulations

Innovation & Product Pipeline

Manage the innovation pipeline from concept to launch

Conduct market analysis to identify trends and whitespace opportunities

Collaborate with cultivation, production, and sales teams to align launch timing and inventory planning

Develop launch toolkits and sell-in materials for retailers

Trade Marketing & Retail Support

Develop in-store merchandising tools and promotional materials

Create sales decks and product education materials

Support key retail relationships through marketing initiatives

Track performance of campaigns and product launches

Events & Brand Activation

Plan and execute industry events, budtender engagements, and brand activations

Manage event calendar and logistics

Represent the company at key industry functions

Develop sampling and educational strategies within regulatory guidelines

Annual Planning & Budgeting

Participate in annual strategic planning process

Build and manage marketing budgets

Set KPIs and track performance metrics

Provide quarterly performance analysis and recommendations

Qualifications

5+ years of marketing experience (CPG, cannabis, beverage alcohol, or similar regulated industry preferred)

Strong understanding of Washington cannabis regulations (WSLCB marketing restrictions)

Experience managing brand portfolios

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Strong project management and organizational skills

Analytical mindset with ability to translate data into action

Creative thinker with strong execution capabilities

Proficiency in marketing tools and platforms (Adobe, Canva, social platforms, email platforms, etc.)

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field preferred
