The Opportunity American Girl is hiring an
Associate Manager, Toy Marketing (Product)
to work on the
Global Brand Team (GBT) , managing several product segments. Marketing serves as the connective tissue between other cross functional partners and key stakeholders such as design, development, finance, and our commercial and retail teams. The GBT is responsible for end-to-end product strategy, including line planning and P&L management. The AMM role will work closely with the Senior Manager and cross functional teams to bring American Girl products to market, supporting and driving the business with a focus on day-to-day management, product development, and business strategy.
What Your Impact Will Be
Own the day-to-day management of the product segment(s) and act as point of contact for brand inquiries and dissemination of brand information.
Work in collaboration with the manager to manage the product portfolio and all key product line tools and documents, develop business strategies, objectives & insights and manage the P&L.
Ensure all product marketing projects are supported by business strategy, objectives and insights.
Work closely with cross-functional partners (Product Design, Packaging, Development, etc.) to bring innovative and compelling toys to market on time and on budget, backed by Consumer Insights.
Collaborate with manager in gaining buy-in for global product strategies at all levels, as well as executional commitment from internal partners to activate across key markets and key lines of business.
Assist with managing margin targets and line plans from initiation to completion with cohesive hand off to commercial team.
Prepare for and deliver presentations that convey a strategic message to large audiences. Present with confidence regularly to drive brand strategy and products.
Own product lifecycle, working closing with the supply planning, demand planning, retail and commercial teams.
Lead global business reporting and analysis.
Monitor key trends, brands and competitors' performance in all markets.
Provide product inputs for creative brief development and high-profile marketing efforts.
Take initiative to clarify ever-changing business needs and challenges and work appropriately with team and cross-functional partners to find solutions.
What We're Looking For
3+ years relevant work experience in marketing with MBA or 5+ years without MBA, preferably in product development, or in a retail or consumer driven company. MBA preferred but not necessary with the right experience.
Thorough understanding of marketing mix and KPIs
Nimble and flexible thinking, ability to quickly learn and apply new ways of thinking.
Excellent analytical and project management skills.
Experience analyzing data and managing financials
Ability to synthesize data and pull insights to create recommendations
Strong skills presenting in front of large groups and a senior level audience
Highly organized, independent and detail oriented with strong follow up skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong time management, planning and project execution skills
