About the Opportunity The Federal Reserve Bank Law Enforcement Unit is seeking a highly qualified Executive Protection Specialist to provide protective services for our Bank President and designated officials. In this role, you will operate within the Federal Reserve Law Enforcement Unit framework and support the Bank’s mission of protecting critical infrastructure, personnel, and operations.

You will perform close‑in executive protection duties, protective intelligence functions, and emergency response activities consistent with Federal Reserve Police policies, procedures, and applicable federal law. In addition, you will demonstrate advanced judgment, professionalism, and the ability to operate in sensitive and high‑risk environments.

What You Will Do

Serve as lead Executive Protection Specialist, providing armed close‑protection services to designated Federal Reserve Bank executives and officials

Conduct and oversee all protective advances, including comprehensive route analysis, site surveys, and threat and vulnerability assessments

Develop, implement, and execute protective operations plans for daily movements, official events, and travel

Maintain situational awareness and proactively identify, assess, and mitigate potential threats

Coordinate executive protection operations with Federal Reserve Police officers, supervisors, and command staff; liaise with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies

Respond to security incidents, emergencies, and protective intelligence alerts in accordance with protocols

Prepare incident reports, intelligence summaries, and after‑action documentation

Make decisions under rapidly evolving situations with limited information and under stressful conditions

Confer and coordinate with Shift Commanders on executive services, driving assignments, and large‑scale event planning

Develop and implement training programs and requirements for personnel assigned to protective services

Develop and maintain relationships with law enforcement, fire, and emergency management agencies throughout the district or in specific areas dependent on travel

Qualifications

The Advanced level role will require a minimum of 8 years of sworn law enforcement, federal protective service, military police, or executive protection experience. The Senior level role will require a minimum of 5 years of experience

Demonstrated full‑time experience in dignitary or executive protection operations

Completion of recognized executive or dignitary protection training programs

Completion of other specialized training in areas such as protective intelligence, threat assessment, or counter‑surveillance

Completion of advanced tactical training programs, solo officer training, and advanced medical training relevant to executive protection, preferred

High school diploma required, some college courses preferred

Certification in standard first aid, CPR, and AED required

Tactical emergency medical training (First Aid/CPR/AED) required

Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record

Ability to successfully complete comprehensive background investigation, suitability determination, and drug screening

Knowledge and Skills

Broad and deep knowledge of law enforcement use‑of‑force principles, threat assessment, and protective intelligence

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

Outstanding interpersonal skills

Broad and deep knowledge and understanding of FRS Law Enforcement authority and jurisdiction, Uniform Regulations for Federal Reserve Law Enforcement Officers, Bank and LEU policies, SOPs and Directives, relevant Federal Criminal Law Statutes, the FRS Use of Force Policy, and LEU Executive Protection/Services policies and procedures

Broad and deep competence with Access control systems, completing incident reports, technology crucial for detecting explosives, narcotics, and other hazardous materials, Video Surveillance System (VSS), and all Pedestrian Screening technology and devices

Broad and deep knowledge of gathering, analyzing, and evaluating facts and evidence and reaching a sound conclusion

Broad and deep knowledge in planning, pre‑planning and executing security measures for large scale events and activities both on and off‑site locations

Physical Requirements and Travel

Must be able to pass physical and psychological examinations by Bank‑designated licensed personnel

Must be proficient with firearms, defensive tactics, less‑lethal equipment, and emergency medical response

Must maintain good physical condition to respond to potentially dangerous life‑threatening situations, and deal with possible confrontation with persons in possession of deadly weapons, may be required to forcefully restrain/pursue individuals

Works extended hours and alternate shifts regularlyRegular travel and some overnight travel may be required

The hiring range for the Senior level is $86,700 to $119,000 annually, and Advanced level hiring range is $116,300 to $159,000 annually.

Salary offered will be based on the job responsibilities and the individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience as defined in the job qualifications.
