Job Summary

The Senior Business Analyst leads complex initiatives by partnering with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver strategic solutions. This role is responsible for driving requirements gathering, analyzing business processes, and recommending improvements that align with organizational goals. The Senior Business Analyst provides thought leadership, mentors junior analysts, and ensures successful execution of projects through advanced analysis, stakeholder engagement, and solution design.

Essential Functions

Beginning to automate and standardize reports for production

Can analyze more complex data

Beginning to make recommendations based on critical thinking skills

Beginning to source data

Document business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria

“Client-ready” work product, may review work product of junior staff

Typically self-directed, autonomous

Can generate their own work (vs. typically assigned by manager)

May guide or monitor the work of others

Demonstrated relationship building and interpersonal skills across bank including line of business, Finance, Risk, and Technology

Limited interaction with leadership teams across bank

Comfort with being “at table” with partners

Partnership extends beyond inquiries to include proactive communication and informed suggestions

Building influencing skills; demonstrated in area of expertise or assigned LOB Sales Enablement

Demonstrates critical thinking

Analyzes, identifies, and recommends appropriate solutions to moderately complex problems

Can translate data and answer the “why” question

Starting to understand impacts / intersections with others

Performs other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice

Complies with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including without limitation, acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key’s clients and Key.

Education

Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

OR equivalent experience (required)

Work Experience

3+ years of experience in business analysis or related field. (required)

Skills

Proficient in MS Excel/PPT

Data integration

Intermediate database query writing/coding

Ability to perform queries of large datasets

Exposure to data integration, visualization, and data mining techniques

Strong project management skills

Building business knowledge/experience with AI tools and prompting

Knowledge of source systems

Knowledge of BI reporting tools including Tableau, Power BI, SQL, and CRMA

Ability to learn the process of consuming data from the data supply chain

Develop and maintain recurring performance dashboards and reports

Capacity to automate reports

Intermediate knowledge of CRM platforms

Intermediate knowledge of regulatory processes

Understands business partner strategy and the business of banking at a high level

Asks the right questions

Understands upstream and downstream impacts

Physical Demands

General Office - Prolonged sitting, ability to communicate face to face in person or on the phone with teammates and clients, frequent use of PC/laptop, occasional lifting/pushing/pulling of backpacks, computer bags up to 10 lbs.

Travel

Occasional travel to include overnight stay.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $71,000.00 - $125,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
