Investigative Multi-skilled Journalist – KXAN Investigates (Austin, TX)

We’re looking for an experienced investigative multi-skilled journalist who’s passionate about digging into stories that matter and turning them into powerful experiences on-air, online and across social platforms.

What You’ll Do

You’ll primarily chase and produce tip-driven investigations — the kind of stories that often get results quickly. You’ll also collaborate on longform and team projects, uncover new angles on breaking stories and work closely with some of the best investigative journalists in the industry.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives on curiosity, creativity and teamwork.

What You’ll Bring

  • 3+ years of professional reporting experience (some investigative work is preferred). This role will have on-air and digital components – and is not an entry-level position.

  • Sharp photojournalism and video editing abilities. You’re comfortable crafting a strong visual story.

  • Experience with public information requests

  • Some proficiency with Excel and an interest in learning other basic data analysis and background research

  • Strong writing and storytelling instincts with impeccable accuracy and unwavering ethics under deadline

  • A knack for digital storytelling and social media engagement. You know how to make investigative content connect with audiences everywhere.

  • Team spirit and a relentless drive to expose the truth

A bachelor’s degree in journalism is preferred. Candidates must have a resume and online link showing investigative work.
