Insomniac produces world-class festivals and events with large-scale productions, and its premier annual event is Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas. Insomniac was founded by Pasquale Rotella and is based in Los Angeles since 1993. Responsibilities Draft press releases, media pitches, and other written materials to convey essential messages and event details to media and internal stakeholders. Assist in media relations, including compiling media lists, crafting quotes, and key talking points. Monitor all Insomniac press coverage and compile a daily coverage report for the PR team. Participate in department meetings and conference calls. Monitor and respond to emails related to PR activities. Manage media requests for club shows and festivals. Maintain the press.insomniac.com site with current festival information. Assist in media request approvals and denials for all club shows and festivals. Coordinate with external agencies on tasks such as fact-checking, announcement schedules, and media assets. Pull photo selects following concerts and branded shows. Gather and provide data for internal research projects and pitch decks. Project-manage various short-term assignments as assigned. Assist with social media monitoring. Assist with PR surrounding Insomniac Cares charity events. Perform other press-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Must be 18 years of age and currently enrolled in an accredited college, university or trade school. Must provide documentation from school that you will receive college credit for the internship. Preferred: studying Public Relations/Communications, English, or entertainment-industry majors, preferably in at least junior year. Previous internship or work experience in public relations and communications is a plus. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in using Google Drive is highly preferred. Must be able to work out of Calabasas, CA office at least 2-3 days a week for 6+ hours per day. Typical commitment is 18-24 hours per week. Must have deep understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok). Motivated with an “Everything is possible” attitude and able to solve problems with urgency on projects of varying scale. Knowledge of dance music and Insomniac’s brands. Work Environment Must be willing to travel to work during holidays, evenings and weekends as required to meet deadlines. Must be able to tolerate loud noise and drastic temperature variations while working on site at event locations. Must be able to work in open concept office space.
