About Translation Commons

Translation Commons is a nonprofit public charity dedicated to providing a reliable and scalable method for digitally rendering languages. Our mission is to solve the problem of unrepresented languages struggling to participate in a global communications network, and since 2015, we have successfully helped digitize numerous endangered languages.

Overview

We are looking for a creative Graphic Designer volunteer to work closely with the Marketing Team and support our digital presence. This role focuses on creating visual and video assets for the website, social media channels, newsletters, and campaigns, helping Translation Commons communicate its mission clearly and visually.

Responsibilities

• Create graphics and videos for banners, newsletters, social media, web pages, and campaigns.
• Develop new design concepts, layouts, and visual styles aligned with the brand.
• Capture video content and perform basic editing.
• Convert video materials into formats suitable for different social media platforms.
• Support website and social media design needs in collaboration with the marketing team.

Ideal Skills

• Ability to work with Canva, Adobe Illustrator, and/or similar design software.
• Basic video editing skills.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Punctuality and ability to meet deadlines.
• Interest in nonprofit work, digital inclusion, or c

reative storytelling.
