Job Description: ABC7 is on the lookout for talented and experienced news photographers to join our dynamic team on a freelance basis. If you're a self-starter with a passion for visual storytelling and possess a curious journalistic spirit, we want to hear from you!

As a news photographer, you will be responsible for capturing compelling interviews, b-roll, and live shots, ensuring timely delivery of content across various platforms. You will work in fast-paced environments, sometimes independently, and at other times alongside reporters. Your ability to handle breaking news situations with poise and professionalism is essential.

Responsibilities:

• Shoot engaging interviews, b-roll, and live shots.
• Edit news stories effectively using Adobe Premiere.
• Set up and execute live shots, consistently meeting daily deadlines.
• Safely operate news vans while using microwave, satellite, and broadband streaming technology.
• Collaborate effectively with reporters, producers, and other team members.
• Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills.

Basic Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of experience as an ENG photographer in local news.
• Proficient in operating a variety of professional quality ENG cameras.
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere.
• Good understanding of ENG Live truck operations.
• Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends, early mornings, late nights, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in medium or large market news environments.
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
