Relationship Manager

The Relationship Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and developing good business relationships that lead to loans, deposits and other banking products offered by the Bank. The Relationship Manager will assist with the management sales and service efforts to ensure retention of existing relationships and growth of new relationships; including tapping into their own professional network. Job Responsibilities: Develops and manages a significant and dynamic loan and deposit portfolio for the Bank specializing in serving businesses. Develops business checking and deposit relationships with customers; and promotes business for the Bank by maintaining good customer relations and referring customers to appropriate staff for new services. Interviews prospective applicants and requests specified information related to loan or credit application; corresponds or re-interviews applicants to resolve questions regarding application information. Analyzes potential loan markets to develop new prospects. Develops business relationships and business referral sources. Performs pre-qualification assessment and analysis of financial condition and risk of financing requests within framework of Bank credit culture and current economic and industry trends. Gathers and analyzes all information necessary to present a financing request to senior management or Loan Committee for approval; meets with existing or potential customers; visiting sites of loans; negotiates loan terms and conditions. Solicits, negotiates, underwrites and coordinates the closing of business loans in compliance with the Bank's lending policies and procedures. Coordinates processing of approved loans; ensures loans are processed according to agreement, customer needs and conform to Bank lending policies; obtains sufficient information and/or documentation from customers; solves problems relative to processing and servicing of loans within his or her portfolio; approves loan disbursements in accordance with agreements. Conducts relevant due diligence interviews or calls with venture capital and Private Equity investors, as needed. Ensures that credit inquires and UCC filings are researched to determine credit worthiness and appropriate collateral positioning are achieved. Ensures that certification or deletion of collateral is made by the appropriate personnel. Negotiates, underwrites and processes renewals of credit facilities. Approves loan payments, draws from lines of credit, and fund transfers within specified limits. Reviews Monthly financial reporting, borrowing bases, and compliance certificates to assess compliance with credit agreements. Reviews NSF and overdraft reports for customers assigned within his or her portfolio; approves or declines such exceptions within established lending limits Assists management in insuring compliance with applicable banking regulations, with particular emphasis on the Bank Secrecy Act. May represent the bank in community or civic functions to promote Bank image and bank products and services. Qualifications: Thorough understanding of financial services and banking products Strong underwriting and portfolio management skills Results driven. Financial modeling experience and comfort Ability to manage complex credits and client relationships Background in cash flow lending for sponsor-backed borrowers a plus Thrives in a dynamic and remote work environment Skilled communicator (written and verbal) Strong ability to lead and motivate junior staff Ability to interpret financial data and reports and when necessary, recommend appropriate actions Ensures absolute confidentiality in all areas of responsibility Pro-active attitude and resourcefulness Experience Required: This level of knowledge is normally acquired through a Bachelor's degree along with at least 3-4 years of experience. Experience in asset-based and cash flow lending products. Qualified candidates with equivalent experience should apply.
