Position Title: Technical Sales Representative

The Boss This position reports to a Cincinnati-based Branch Manager with deep industry experience and a strong operational background. The manager is known for building high-performing sales and service teams, emphasizing technical competence, accountability, and customer responsiveness. The local branch is regarded as one of the strongest operations teams in the region, with long-tenured sales and service personnel who actively support field sales success.
The Position The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for developing new business while maintaining and expanding existing customer relationships within the Cincinnati market. The role is heavily field-based and requires close collaboration with contractors, engineers, and facility stakeholders to deliver technically sound rental solutions. The representative will work closely with operations, technicians, and leadership to ensure seamless execution and long-term customer satisfaction.
Essential Functions (Other duties may be assigned):
Manage and grow an established territory with an existing book of business valued at approximately $2–3 million annually
Develop and execute sales strategies targeting mechanical contractors, general contractors, and industrial customers
Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and repeat customers
Conduct on-site sales calls, technical discussions, and solution presentations
Identify customer needs and coordinate customized rental solutions with internal teams
Track sales activity, pipeline, and market trends using company systems
Participate in ongoing training to stay current on products, applications, and industry trends
Qualifications:
Proven success in outside sales, preferably in HVAC, equipment rental, or related technical industries
Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand HVAC and power applications
Experience selling to contractors and project-driven customers strongly preferred
Ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams
Clean driving record and willingness to spend the majority of time in the field
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
Typically 3–5+ years of successful outside sales experience
Background in HVAC, industrial equipment, construction, or engineered solutions strongly preferred
Competencies:

Strong communication and presentation skills
