In our Career Center, Job Coaches provide a variety of activities to adults with disabilities who want to work. They interact with individuals looking for employment to help determine what work skills they have, and what types of jobs they want in the local community. The Job Coach will help support the individual while they practice their skills at internships in various work settings. They help the individual understand the expectations of work and help, assess their skills, along with encouraging them with their interactions with supervisors and co-workers on the job. They find ways to implement strategies to help align the learning styles of the individual to the job. It is a job for people who enjoy learning and moving around in different environments and supporting individuals as they pursue their dreams.

AVAILABLE POSITIONS:
Full-time, Part-time, and Per Diem, opportunities
WHAT WOULD I BE DOING?
Providing instruction and support to the people we support with developmental, intellectual, and/or physical disabilities.
Providing training to people participating in career readiness activities.
Provide pre-placement, job development, and job coaching services.
Assisting with an assessment of individual skills.
Providing individual and small group training.
Assist individuals with following directions, attending to tasks, socialization skills, work habits, dress & hygiene, mobility training, problem-solving, and safety on the job.
Documents all program data accurately and timely.
Provide transportation as needed.
Use various software platforms for specific job functions.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A DSP:
High School Diploma, or equivalent required.
Valid NYS driver's license with a safe driving record
Has a willingness to learn new skills (we provide paid training).
