About Us PRO-QUIP is a regional manufacturers' representative covering NY, NJ, PA, DE, MD, VA. We are a primary source for all types of control valves. Our offering includes safety relief devices and industrial instrumentation as well.

Summary / Objective PRO-QUIP is a regional Manufacturers' Representative and Distributor covering the states of Central NY, Northern NJ, Northeast PA. Our Technical Sales team is dedicated to customer service, and our technical ability is first rate. We are responsive to both our customers and the manufacturers that we represent. Founded in 1993 in the New York Metro territory, PRO-QUIP offers sales and support services across 7 states. PRO-QUIP has grown to be one of the premier process equipment suppliers in the areas we serve.

Primary Industries Served The primary industries we serve include Power, Refining, Chemical, Natural Gas Transmission, Air Separation, Food and Pharmaceutical. Our company philosophy is to differentiate ourselves from our competitors by focusing on the proper solution for each application and providing our customers with solutions, not just products.

Responsibilities The Outside Sales Representative (OSR) is responsible for achieving long-term sales growth and meeting target margins/profitability in their assigned territory/defined customer base. Business Development is achieved by building and maintaining key relationships, adding value with technical/application support, and sales lead generation and follow-up in the territory.

Essential Functions

Sales lead generation

Product and application customer training

Territory and industry specific strategic planning and execution

Customer relations maintenance and development

Technical applications review

Quotations preparation and assistance with preparation

Cost analysis, profit maximization

Vendor relations, cooperative vendor sales calls and training as needed and available

Regular reporting, directly to Management

Achieve the Sales and Gross Margin budgets for the defined territory.

Drive regional, corporate account business strategies and new product introductions.

Conduct in-plant and seminars to educate users in the use of our products and services.

Represents the organization in providing solutions associated with the sale and marketing of our products.

Previous performance must have demonstrated superior Conceptual, Technical, People, and Organizational Skills plus a Strong Work Ethic.

Training Learn our products, application and the selection process and the industries we serve. That process will be accomplished by in-house, external training and on-the-job training.

Work Environment This job requires a professional home office environment for planning, scheduling, customer phone conversations and Teams meetings. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, printers/scanners, and smartphones. The OSR is expected to spend the majority of the time at customer facilities promoting PRO-QUIP’s products and services.

Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, talk, or hear and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision. Ability to travel. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Exposure to high levels of heat or noise may occur while visiting in the customer plant environment. Moderate noise (i.e.: computer printers, traffic) exists daily in the work environment.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel Regular travel within the defined territory including overnight is expected.

Required Education and Experience

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Minimum 1 – 3 years of experience in industrial sales and/or management

Preferred Education and Experience

Engineering degree preferred

Must hold a valid driver’s license.

Air travel may be required.

May be required from time to time to take and successfully complete customer-directed drug and/or alcohol testing.
