This position is open to internal, BNH employees and external candidates
Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Construction Superintendent supporting TOS II, at Arnold AFB Tennessee. The Construction Superintendent will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for operating and maintaining or supporting the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.
This position is open to internal, BNH employees and external candidates.
The selected candidate for this requisition must be available to work any shift and shift determination will be made based on the priority of work at the time the selected candidate is cleared to report to work.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will work in an environment requiring the ability to cooperate, work in teams and work well with individuals at all levels of the company, the client, and outside users directing multi-discipline activities in the Operations and Maintenance (O& M) of the Asset Management Directorate.
Job Duties:
Notify Capital Project Manager (CPM) of the need for a work request before beginning work
Participate in the design review process from concept to 100% design
Accompany contractors on pre-bid site visits during bid solicitation
Support the review of contract submittals with CMP
Monitor projects to ensure they are executed in a safe manner and according to Air Force standards
Coordinate with construction crew to develop job safety plans
Monitor construction for compliance with drawings and specifications
Identify and schedule in-house support
On contracted projects, monitor daily and make entries into daily construction log
Maintain the project file with all pertinent construction information
Making photographs of job progress
Coordinate with AF project managers as required for construction
Obtain permits for contractors and craft
Typical permits are Master Work Permit, Digging Permit, Landfill Permit, and Burn Permit
Participate in lockout/tagout to include walking down systems with system engineers and/or Master Work Permit Issuers to ensure full compliance with Safety, Health and Environmental Standard B2
Initiate and coordinate utility outages
Coordinate redline drawings showing as-built conditions for transmittal to design engineering
Identify all deviations from contract documents and record actions taken to ensure compliance
Create preliminary punch list
As work is complete notify CPM to set up FCA/PCA after preliminary punch list is complete
Performs general functions inherent in all supervisory positions
It is a condition of employment to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy
Perform other duties as required
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with seven years of progressive experience in a related field or 12 years commensurate work experience in lieu of degree
Must have demonstrated leadership ability and good communication skills
Must have the necessary people skills and attitude to fully embrace and support the Companies position on safety
Must have the ability to plan, organize, lead, and monitor a wide variety of team efforts to their successful conclusion
Must be able to anticipate change and to adjust promptly and effectively
Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance and the AEDC local area network
Current U. S. Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
Active Secret clearance
Proficient in typical Civil Engineering projects such as Building Renovation, Sewer/Potable Water Line replacement, HVAC, Mechanical, Roofing, Corrosion Control, etc.
Thorough knowledge of construction, engineering, procurement, and other project-related activities, including the interfaces and interdependency
Ability to anticipate change and to adjust promptly and effectively
