Director, Financial Operations We are partnering with a

high-growth life insurance platform

seeking a

Director of Financial Operations

to oversee the company’s operational finance and accounting infrastructure. This individual will play a key role in building and managing scalable financial operations processes within a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment.

This role will oversee core operational accounting functions including treasury operations, policyholder activity reconciliations, and accounts payable, while ensuring strong controls around financial operations and regulatory compliance. The Director will also partner closely with internal teams and external service providers to ensure accurate reporting and efficient operational processes as the business continues to scale.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the company’s

financial operations function , including accounts payable, treasury, and operational accounting activities

Oversee

bank relationships and cash management processes , including bank reconciliations and treasury operations

Manage

policyholder activity and administrative system reconciliations , ensuring accuracy between operational systems and financial records

Supervise a team responsible for operational accounting and financial operations functions

Oversee key

financial operations workflows , ensuring processes are efficient, controlled, and scalable

Manage relationships with

third‑party service providers

supporting compliance and reporting processes

Ensure internal processes support

insurance regulatory and tax reporting requirements , including premium tax and tax reporting obligations

Partner with accounting, finance, and operations teams to

build and improve financial operations processes

in a high‑growth environment

Support the implementation and enhancement of

systems, controls, and operational workflows

as the organization continues to scale

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in

Accounting, Finance, or related field

6–10+ years of experience

in accounting, financial operations, or operational finance roles

Experience working within the

insurance industry , preferably life insurance, annuities, or related financial services

Strong understanding of

operational accounting processes , including treasury, reconciliations, and financial operations controls

Experience managing or overseeing

banking relationships and treasury processes

Experience working with

insurance policy administration or operational systems

Ability to operate effectively in a

fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment

Preferred Experience

Experience in

life insurance or annuity platforms , carriers, reinsurers, or insurance technology companies

Exposure to

premium tax reporting, regulatory reporting, or insurance compliance processes

Experience working with

outsourced providers supporting compliance or operational processes

Background in

high‑growth, startup, or private equity‑backed environments
