The
Sr Manager, Business Strategy
within the Business Strategy team, part of the broader Strategy department, plays a critical role in shaping the direction and growth of the company. This team leads and consolidates the annual strategy review, coordinates the implementation of strategic initiatives in collaboration with the business, and leads special initiatives on behalf of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT). Moreover, the team defines, prioritizes, and drives broader transformation efforts that tangibly help to improve profitability, risk, and execution.
Role Responsibilities:
Drive key workstreams in the Strategy Review process, developing solid analyses and actionable recommendations on business models, market prioritization, pipeline gaps, growth modes, capabilities & competitive positioning, business cases, etc
Coordinate and drive strategy implementation projects, working closely with business units to ensure alignment and execution
Support, project manage, or lead ad-hoc strategic initiatives on behalf of the ELT, e.g. culture activation efforts, scouting of corporate acquisition/JV targets in alignment with the strategy, etc
Define, prioritize, and lead transformation initiatives, in close collaboration with relevant business units, including assessing related business cases and supporting change management
Track company KPIs and prepare quarterly strategic performance reports for top management
Identify, evaluate, and integrate emerging trends and innovations (including AI) providing recommendations for integration into business strategies
Foster and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support strategic initiatives
Coordinate and support executive-level internal and external meetings (e.g., with board, investors, …)
Job Requirements and Experiences:
Bachelor's or advanced degree in STEM, business, or other relevant fields
Minimum 7years of relevant professional experience in the power industry, across strategy, management consulting or relevant business roles. Depending on relevance, advanced education in a related field may be considered towards experience requirements
Strong knowledge in key areas, including corporate strategy, clean energy and utility industry, US power markets / transmission grid, renewable project development / commercialization, clean energy technologies
Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical capabilities, and business acumen
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively engage and influence senior stakeholders
Strong organization and project management skills; highly independent
Demonstrated leadership skills, including influencing without formal authority
High standards for quality and excellence, while being pragmatic
Demonstrates strong impact-orientation across activities
Demonstrated ability to lead organizational or operational transformation efforts, including workflow redesign, business case development, and change management support, with a track record of driving adoption and delivering measurable outcomes
Productively challenges the status quo, identifying and sharing new ideas
Motivated and effective self-starter, reliable, collaborative, team-oriented, adaptable, high-integrity, self-reflective, able to learn and act on feedback
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois is $160,000 - $200,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
