Minority Finance Director (Democrat Caucus)
Summary Provides fiscal, legislative, policy analysis and counsel to the Minority Caucus in the formulation and implementation of budgetary and legislative strategies and objectives. Coordinates the work of Minority Caucus staff and other personnel to fulfill these responsibilities.
Essential Functions
Consults with and advises Minority Leadership and legislators of the Minority Caucus while managing staff on the budget bill and other fiscal and revenue measures
Researches, prepares, analyzes, and summarizes bills, amendments and legislative issues for the Minority Caucus
Coordinates, supervises, monitors and assigns work to Minority Caucus legislative staff working on budget and other legislative fiscal measures and tasks
Works with stakeholders, such as governmental agencies, organizations and advocacy groups to gather and share information relative to legislative matters
Completes additional tasks as assigned by the Minority Leader, the Minority Chief of Staff, and the Minority Policy Director
Qualifications
Understands legislative process and terminology
Understands state government
Knowledge of state budgeting process
Experience with Microsoft Office
Conducts legislative and policy research
Communicates effectively both orally and in writing
Multitasks and prioritizes work to meet deadlines
Maintains a professional demeanor in any and all circumstances
Ensures confidentiality while handling politically sensitive work
Understands supervisory/management concepts and principles
Works as part of a team
Flexible and agile
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree
Minimum Qualifications: Two years of legislative or relevant fiscal experience
