H2 Performance Consulting (H2) is seeking a Director of Business Development to join our leadership team. This position is a rainmaker to grow sales for our company while also being a systems thinker and market anticipator. The ideal candidate will drive growth by developing, and executing winning strategies, and capturing new business opportunities within the Federal and DoD markets. This role involves working on proposals individual and with a team, as well as working closely with our operational team to ensure a seamless transition from opportunity identification to contract execution.
Director of Business Development responsibilities Business Development
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, stakeholders, and influencers within Federal and DoD agencies.
Participate in industry days, conferences, and other forums to understand customer priorities and establish the company's presence.
Collaborate with the proposal team to develop compliant, compelling, and high-quality responses to Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and other solicitations.
Create and manage a pipeline of viable future opportunities and develop strategy to attach the opportunity when it comes to fruition.
Leverages technology and efficiency to create, implement and rolls out growth plans, internal reporting systems and policies all designed to foster growth.
Works with the Leadership Team to establish annual, quarterly, and monthly growth priorities and facilitates workflows.
Strategic Leadership
Provide strategic guidance, input, and leadership during proposal development, ensuring alignment with the capture strategy.
Provides leadership across all departments in support of the organization’s strategic plan and objectives.
Partners with the Leadership Team to aggressively carry out H2s’s growth goals.
Supports internal culture and engagement activities.
Represents H2 at speaking engagements, external meetings, conferences, events and other industry activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Experience and Qualifications
10+ years of experience in Federal or DoD capture management or related roles.
Proven track record of successfully capturing and winning contracts within Federal / DoD agencies, especially in IT services, cybersecurity, program management, and/or consulting.
Deep knowledge of the Federal procurement lifecycle, including FAR regulations and agency-specific acquisition processes.
In depth proposal writing knowledge and proven track record of pipeline development and win/loss ratio within Federal/DoD proposal environment.
Strong understanding of Federal / DoD agencies' missions, priorities, and challenges.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
